A premium well made abalone pen is difficult to find. This abalone has a faceted look. It was cut in long thin strips lengthwise and applied to the center tube. The abalone strips are matched so it appears as one continuous matching piece.
The abalone is cast in crystal clear resin to preserve and protect it. I turn the resin to shape on a lathe, sand and polish it to a glass-like smooth finish.
The metal components are titanium gold and black titanium. These are the hardest metals for pen making and will provide a lifetime of use.
Operate the pen with a 1/2 twist. It uses a Parker compatible ballpoint refill available at larger office supply stores or here at Mission City Pens website.
