Personally handmade in my shop, I used the parts from a retired Franck Muller wrist watch that has been disassembled and embedded the dial with the small parts into the body of the pen. I use a carbon fiber black background. In good lighting, the carbon fiber makes the watch parts and dial appear 3 dimensional. It is then cast in clear resin, turned to shape on a lathe, sanded and polished. The Pink watch dial will have minor imperfections as it is from a retired watch, but this one is near perfect. This is a one-of-a-kind pen not to be duplicated.
This pen has the most highly detailed design possible with an exceptional amount of watch parts embedded into it. Compare to the other watch parts pens and you can see the difference. A variety of real watch pieces, both larger and smaller, cover most of the pen body. Significantly more effort to make due to all the pieces needing modifications to wrap around the pen body.
This is a fountain pen. The fountain uses standard International size cartridge refills, or you can use a converter (not included) to use the bottled ink of your color and characteristics choice. It uses a medium #5 German made iridium tip nib. I include 5 cartridges and a gift box. I can also change the nib assembly to rollerball at no extra charge. It uses a standard German Schmidt cartridge, or other brand rollerball cartridges made to the same standard. Cartridges are available at your local office supply stores or here at Mission City Pens. Please let me know if you want rollerball, other wise it will be sent as a fountain pen as listed.
The premium metal components are finished in black titanium and platinum for long wear. These are the hardest metals available for custom pen designs and will provide a lifetime durability. The darker accent ends and center band are black titanium and the remainder are platinum. Collector pen rating. The cap is postable on the other end should you like the extra weight and length.
Approximate length 5 1/8", width 5/8", weight 1.9 oz.
I have a selection of other similar watch parts pens available. Quality and craftsmanship guaranteed. I have been designing custom fine writing instruments since 2006. Experience counts.
Thanks for looking. I appreciate it.
Disclosure - The watch maker has no association or endorsement with the manufacture of this custom pen by Mission City Pens. The watch maker does not sell this pen and Mission City Pens does not offer it for sale to them. The watch brand is a trademarked product. The once working watch was disassembled for parts and used to repurpose this into a pen. The watch does not work.
