The body is a resin consisting of blue, black and gold segmented colors. Extend and retract the refill with a 1/2 twist. I use a premium metal cartridge German made Schmidt P900 refill to give the best writing experience from this fine writing instrument. The P900 writes similar to a rollerball with a gel-like ink. The refill is made to the Parker standard and any Parker compatible refill fits perfectly. Refills are available on this Mission City Pens website, your local office supply store or various on-line sources.
